Playtest your board game online tonight.
Upload your rulebook and your art — taybl turns them into a virtual table you and your playtesters can sit down at, in the browser. Free, no install, no scripting.
From rulebook to playable table
- Step 1
Upload what you already have
Your rulebook, your board, your card faces — even an uncut print-and-play sheet, which taybl cuts into individual cards for you.
- Step 2
Get a table you can play
taybl reads your files and builds a first draft: components, zones, seats, and your rules in the sidebar. Play it immediately, then fix anything by dragging it.
- Step 3
Send your group a link
Share a private playtest link. Everyone sits at the same table in real time, in their browser — nothing to install, on any device.
A table, not a rules engine
taybl models a real, physical table. It never polices whose turn it is, never keeps score, and will never stop you making an illegal move. You move the pieces and resolve the rules yourselves, exactly like playing in person.
That is deliberate. It is what lets any game live here — including the one you are still designing, with rules you changed this morning.
Play online together
Open a session, share the link, and sit down at the same virtual table. Drag, flip, and shuffle in real time with friends anywhere.
Published games, ready to play
Browse a growing catalogue of tabletop games. Pick one and start playing in seconds — solo on this device or online with others.
Edit every last thing
A to-scale layout editor, a library of ready-made dice, meeples and tokens, and an assistant you can just ask for changes in plain English.
Where AI comes in — and where it does not
AI is used in exactly one place: building the table. It reads the rules and art you upload, works out what components and zones your game needs, and generates a first draft you can play right away.
- It never enforces a rule at the table — players resolve everything by hand.
- It never designs your game or draws your art. You bring those; taybl adapts them.
- It never gets the last word — everything it makes, you can change by hand.
Prefer to skip it entirely? Build by hand from an empty table, or send us your rules and art and we will build it for you, free. How taybl uses AI.
Questions
- How do I playtest a board game remotely?
- Upload your rulebook and component art to taybl, and it builds a virtual table for your game. Send your playtesters the link and everyone plays together in the browser — no install, no scripting, and no copies of the game to post.
- Do my playtesters need an account?
- They can open your share link and try the game on their own without one. To sit at the same table together, everyone signs in with a free account.
- Does taybl enforce my rules?
- No, and that is on purpose. taybl is a table, not a rules engine — it never validates a move or tracks turns. That is what lets you play a design whose rules are still changing.
- What if my art is not finished?
- Use the built-in component library — dice, cubes, meeples, tokens, spinners, boards and tracks, all drawn for you. Pick a colour and a size and drop them in. You can swap in real art later without rebuilding the game.
- Is taybl free?
- Yes — building, publishing, and playing on taybl are currently free.
- Can I keep my game private while I test it?
- Yes. Games start private. Move to alpha for a secret link you send only to your playtesters, and publish publicly only when you are ready.
